Do you experience discomfort and irritation associated with menstrual cycles? Xiao Yao Wan enhances mood and relieves discomfort by regulating qi, nourishing the blood and generally harmonizing the body.
Functions:
Softens the Liver, Regulates Qi, Nourishes Blood, Strengthens the Spleen.
Indications:
Liver Qi stagnation with Blood deficiency and Spleen Qi deficiency presenting with costal pain, alternating chills and fever, generalized muscle tightness especially in the neck and upper back, headache, dizziness, vertigo, fatigue, dry mouth and throat, bitter taste in the mouth, abdominal bloating, poor appetite, changeable bowel habits, irritability, anxiety, depression, mood swings, restless sleep, fullness in the chest with difficulty breathing deeply, frequent sighing, breast distention and tenderness, painful menstruation, late or irregular menstruation, symptoms may be aggravated by stress or emotional upset, symptoms may also manifest cyclically. Tongue: slightly red, pale, or light purple, may have pale sides Pulse: wiry, deficient.
Biomedical Applications:
premenstrual syndrome, oligomenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, functional uterine bleeding, menopausal syndrome, pelvic inflammatory disease, fibrocystic breast disease, insomnia, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, stress relief, chronic neck and upper back tension, migraine headache, tension headache, globus hystericus, neurasthenia, anemia, costochondritis, intercostal neuralgia, post-herpetic neuralgia, chronic hepatitis, early stages of liver cirrhosis, hypertension, chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, retinitis, optic nerve atrophy, bruxism.
Standard Dosage:
8 pills, 3 x day.
Clinical Dosage:
Administer half an hour before or one hour after eating. In severe cases or in the initial phases of treatment, dosage may be increased to 8-12 pills 3 times per day, then reduced to a maintenance dose as the treatment takes effect. For patterns associated with sleep disorders, 8-16 pills may be administered before bed. May be used long-term for several weeks to several months. May be used over the course of several years.
Ingredients:
Bupleurum chinense root, Paeonia lactiflora root, Angelica sinensis root, Atractylodes macrocephala rhizome, Poria cocos fungus, Zingiber officinale rhizome-fresh, Glycyrrhiza uralensis root, Mentha haplocalyx herb. - Chai hu, Bai shao, Dang gui, Bai zhu, Fu ling, Sheng jiang, Gan cao, Bo he.
Cautions & Contraindications:
Contraindicated during the early stages of acute illness such as cold and flu, or during an acute infection. Use with caution in breast-feeding women as Bo he/mint may reduce the production of breast milk in some cases.
